Recreational Activities

Guided Waterfall Hikes

There are hundreds of waterfalls in the mountains of North Carolina. But on one of our more scenic hikes in the region, your guests can see three magnificent waterfalls on one trail weaving through the woods, down a mountain and along a roaring stream. Our professional guides lead this easy to moderate hike through a state forest while introducing the group to the abundant flora and fauna native to our Southern Appalachian Mountains. Your group can add a scavenger hunt for specific species of plants and animals for a little friendly competition.

Zipline Tours

For the thrill seeker to the casual recreationalist, we offer two different zipping experiences never to be forgotten. One option is an ecotour where guests zip on several lines high above the ground, as fast as 65 miles per hour, as long as 3600 feet and as high as 350 feet. In this fully guided mountain adventure, guests will also rapel, hike and enjoy amazing long range views in and above the mountain canopy. For those who choose to keep it a little closer to the ground we also offer an urban treetop option overlooking beautiful Downtown Asheville. Whichever adventure you choose your guests are sure to be talking about this activity for years down the road.

Horseback Riding

Ride along our scenic mountaintop trails skirting the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. On this high mountain adventure guests can take in the native flora and fauna from atop their own horse, and half way through the ride we give the horses a rest and let guests explore the Little Pine Garnet Mine. If you find any of the gemstone quality garnets in this above ground mine, you are welcome to keep them. This tour  is enjoyable for both the experienced and beginner rider of any age. Scenic panoramic views, clean mountain air and pristine forests make this fully guided tour the perfect remedy for long days spent in front of your office computer screen.

Chimney Rock Park

Just a short drive from Asheville you will find Chimney Rock State Park. Nestled between Lake Lure and Bat Cave, this 1000-acre park features the 535 million year old “Chimney Rock,” which has become one of the most photographed sites in the United States. Ascend 26 stories, or 258 feet in about 35 seconds in the rock enclosed elevator for 75 mile panoramic views. Hiking trails for every ability and rock climbing are just a part of what this historic park has to offer. If your group has enough time, we can also add a guided pontoon tour on beautiful Lake Lure before returning to the hotel.

White Water River Rafting

Take a half-day or full-day trip down one of our local rivers. The French Broad, Nantahala, Nolichucky or Pigeon Rivers offer Class I, II, III, IV and V rapids. Each one of our rafts will have an expert guide negotiating the waters, and you can enjoy lunch on the shore of the river as well as swim in the refreshing mountain waters.

Fly Fishing Excursions

Western North Carolina offers an abundance of freestone rivers and streams. We can arrange a professionally guided wading trip or a float trip out of self-bailing rafts with high-back fighting seats. You’ll have access to a healthy population of brook, brown and rainbow trout. Whatever your skill level, our goal is to make sure that all our guests enjoy their fishing excursion and perhaps learn a few new skills.

Sporting Clays & Skeet Shooting

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced shooter, we will take your guests to a private range where they can choose between standard skeet or trap shooting, or sporting clays.  On a sporting clays course, there are ten or more shooting stations that are identified by the game they are designed to imitate; grouse, quail, pheasant, dove, ducks, rabbits, etc. Clay targets of different shapes and sizes are thrown at varying speeds, angles and heights to simulate the path of hunting game.

Golf Outings & Tournaments

We can offer golfers of all levels a challenge at one of six or more area courses, including courses not accessible for public use. Play on one designed by British architect Martin Hantree, Edmund Ault, Tom Jackson, Ellis Maples, Jack Nicklaus or Donald Ross. You choose the course and we will arrange the tee time and transportation.
